A long time in the making

I realized its been a while since I've blogged. I offer no excuses, except burn out and laziness. Todd and I finally finished our wainscotting project. We started it in January and finished it today.

We copied amber and sean's house, and she copied stephanies, so thank you all. Now i just have to get some of cortney's pictures enlarged and framed and hopefully, that wall will not seem so huge anymore.

In Feb. I went on a girls trip with my sister Amber, cousing Missy and my Moses Lake crew, Ashley and Laura. We went to AZ and stayed in Missy's m-i-l's condo. It's amazing how a few days of doing nothing can rejuvinate you. I didn't lift a finger, Poor Missy had to cook breakfast for us every morning!! We shopped, lounged by the hot tub, and (best of all) ate out for every meal. Ash and I flew together (first class, thanks to todd), not 30 minutes being there, I lost my voice. So sad for me, I finally could be heard the last day! I still laughed a ton and did a lot of knee slapping. For 3 days we lived in the past, remincing about the glory days. I WANT TO GOT BACK!!! I only took a few pictures and half of them were the girls in swim suits-I figured they would not appreciate them exposed to all the world to see, so here are a few of the others.

Sorry laura, I don't know how your lips turned out blue.

These pictures are of Ash and I flying first class. Notice the real glass cups, head phones, and snacks til we were sick. On the first flight the attendent overheard me saying that I tend to get air sick, so she made me a bag a ice to put at the base of my neck- it really worked!

A few things said while watching High School Musical

Last night I finally got HSM 3 at a Redbox. The 2 older kids had seen it at the movie theatre, so this was Roxy's first time. Even though she was totally sick and fevering she still couldn't keep herself from dancing. she ran into her room changed out of her clothes and put on her princess dancing dress.
Meg turned to me and said, " will i do that when i am in high school?"
"do what" i replied
"kiss boys"
"uh, maybe a little bit" She caught me off guard. Let's all cross our fingers.
During one of the dancing scenes between Gab and Troy, Roxy leans over to me and says, " i am her and daddy is hims"

oh I forgot...

A few weeks ago cooper and meg got strep throat. sunday morning I informed him that he couldn't go to church and he said, " mom, maybe you could just bring a video camera and tape it so I can watch it when you get back." a man after my own heart. I hope he never grows out of it.

Hmmmmmm

I have the worst bloggers block ever!!!! I absolutely cannot think of anything to write about! My kids behavior has been horrible, so you'd think I'd have lots to say, but still, nothin! I am however, currently obsessed with American Idol. I usually don't get so into it at this point in the competition but, I am already feeling really sad for the people who are getting cut today. All I know is that Porto Rican chic better get the axe or I'm going to flip!

finished

Todd and I went to Ikea a week ago intending to buy some bookshelves for downstairs. As we were looking we decided that Todd could make some just as good, better quality wood and for cheaper. We took this picture as our inspiration and came up with this.

Now I just need to find things to fill it up with. Here are some pillows I found yesterday for our bed. I have a lot more stuff to do to finish but this is a start.

Todd and I have the home improvement bug, we cant stop starting new projects. We finally finished a couple of them (enough to post, at least).
Todd made these frames and I spray painted them. So Easy!

Todd finished the ladder and railing in the playroom. The kids are so excited to sleep up there tonight.

The guest room. I still need to take out my cedar chest. that's me in the mirror.

I am looking for a great old lamp. This is the quilt todd gread grandma pieced and his grandma finished for our wedding.

I painted the coffee table added a few pillows, this room needed some color.

Some Changes

After coming home from Amber's house Todd and I got an itch to start some new projects. The first was our bedroom. We had a log bed with matching furniture that Todd made for us when we were first married. We both still love it but didn't want it in our room any more, so we moved it into the guest room and went to the RC Willey outlet and bought a new headboard. I didn't want to go out and buy new side tables so Todd used some leftover wood and made theses floating ones. I still have a lot of work left to do but it's fun to see a change. The second project was our barstools. The fabric was getting old looking so I went out and bought new fabric and wahla... 20 minutes of work and new barstools. they add a nice punch of color to the kitchen, now I just have to keep my kids from spilling on them!!!

Next project...... wainscotings on the family room walls.
